The pictures with the Pentax were ok but not WOW!!
So at the SV camp i bit the bullet and modded the camera on the kitchen bench.
This is not for the faint hearted and i smelled some people shitting themselfs :)
Darren helped me by holding the mirror up and then the filter came out with a lot of persuation (this mod was done from the front).
After the mod was done it was waiting till dark.
Here is an 90Second pic right out of the camera.

Single pic at 90Seconds

This is the same picture but then with some processing in CS2

Same picture but prosecced in CS2.

With the mod i get much more detail and can take much shorter exposures.
I am now considering putting an UV/IR filter in front of the chip to get more natural colours.

Well this is my first blog i ever made.
I first started with an 10" dob and had a good time with it untill i wanted to make astrophoto's.
Man that was an p in the a.
So i decided to sell the dob and get an achromat.
It is an Skywatcher 120mm short tube on an eq5 mount with gotostar controller.
The first camera (if you can call it an camera) was an webcam.
Here is an photo i took with it, yes you guessed right it is the moon :P
Moonshot with the webcam.

Later i got an DSI colour (bad bad move).
The DSI colour is ok in black and white see photo below.

M42 in black and white with the dsi colour.

Looking good hey?

Well the DSI gave me only grieve in colour :(
See the m42 picture below.
M42 with the dsi but now in colour, pretty bad hey?

Some more images with the DSI below.

A cluster and yes the stars are bloated :(

The swan nebula with an 70mm meade refractor.

Enough of that pesky DSI that is now demoted to an guide camera.

I decided i needed an dslr and got myself an pentax *ist D.
And wow!!! what an difference.
See my very first picture taken with it below.

What an difference!!

Ok ok it has those nice achromat halo's around the stars but they can be processed out with paint shop (see below thanks to Ken).

And voils the halo's are gone.

More pictures are to follow as i progress.
