Michel from Jupos put together a map of my data which will be used this apparition as the base map for the chaps working out what is going on on Jupiter. Thought I would post this so you guys can take a gander.

I've been wondering when someone was gonna make one of these with all the recent high quality Jupiters being posted.  Well done.   Cool

the good news for me is that I have enough data to make a full disk animation. I am currently processing Justin to do that very task. So much data to go through . 9th of May is nearly done though and then I have to finish all the data from the 10th but only a 1/4 of that has been completed. So thi may take some time. In the mean time I will be imaging if the sky is willing.

Fascinating - the information that is in these images - to the experienced eye, rather than mine

Good stuff Paul..

There is some spots still without names; we could have the Rumples Rotary, for one of those nameless ones.

Even better Paul.

Do the white spots in the NNTB have names?

I didn't do the naming Justin and Lester. I received the updated map this morning from John Rogers.

I didn't think you did.  Just wondered if they happen to have proper designations or not.

I don't know, perhaps there is a designation for them. I have had a bit of a hunt around and as yet have not found any referrences. I guess that will come out in the next report. Will keep you posted.

Thanks Paul.

I'll look into it as well since Lester and I brought it up.

awesome paul....some super data

Hey gendo, I have been playing with the Jupos program where you track the position of objects....THings that are long lived like the GRS, have name.... the white ovals in South have the A1...etc cos they have been around for a while.

TO my knowledge, the spots in the NNTB tend to get gobbled up by each other.

When you enter data you label them according to a legend.  Is it a white spot or darb spot, is there a ring around it etc etc.

I am really finding it interesting, in fact the last John Rogers report (where our very own Paul and Bird played major parts), i nearly understood everything he said

Just been comparing the GRS area of this (Paul's) map, and the latest APOD shot from Hubble of the GRS area.  I must say that the data from Paul is so good there is not much that is on the hubble shot that is not on Paul's.  I'm not saying it is as good, but given the restraints an earthbound imager has to work under you certainly deserve all the accolades you get Paul.
