South Celestial Pole (SCP) is a free community website for amateur astronomers.
This is the third revision of the SCP website and there has been a big change in the way the site functions. The entire site now operates in a similar way to a wiki, where members can create or change articles or pages by themselves. This makes SCP an online astronomy community like no other. This site is literally maintained by it's users. SCP is free. Free to use, free of bias, free of any affiliation with the manufacturers or sellers of astronomical equipment. Each article, blog, or post on SCP represents the view of the particular person that wrote it. This means that SCP can host many different views that may not all be in agreement. But this is the beauty of the site. Enjoy the diversity, the camaraderie and most of all, the fun!
Experience the lighter side of astronomy. Refresh! with SCP |

SCPedia is a collection of articles relating to all aspects of astronomy. Everything from do-it-yourself instructions to serious reviews of astronomical equipment are stored here.
The best thing about SCPedia is that it is not maintained by just one or two people. Anyone who is a member of the SCP forum can get an SCPedia login that enables them to submit articles to SCPedia themselves, at any time. The concept is similar to a wiki, where whoever reads it can also contribute to it, although there are some differences. Go to SCPedia for more information. |
